Entree
Vegetarian
1 cup cooked macaroni
3 Tbs butter
2 Tbs flour
1 Cup (you can add more if you’d like; I do!) shredded cheddar cheese
2 Cups milk
salt and pepper to taste
While the noodles are cooking, and the oven is preheating to 350…
In a medium pot, melt the butter on low heat then slowly add the flour by whisking it in. Next, slowly add the milk. Once the milk, butter, and flour is nice and warm, slowly add the cheese.
Put the cooked macaroni nooddles in a medium sized casserole dish, pour the cheesy goodness in, and stir; top with more cheese, if you’d like.
Bake for 30 minutes.
I enjoy slicing fresh tomotoes and putting them on top, covered with even more cheese and/or breadcrumbs. You also don’t have to use cheddar; I highly recommend experimenting with this recipe. My friend’s husband adds a can of Rotel and puts crushed nacho cheese Doritos on top. Awesome.
Enjoy!
