Appetizers

Vegan

1 can garbanzo beans (reserve liquid)
2 tbs tahini (you can substitute peanut butter)
4 tbs olive oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 lemon juiced
Kosher salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Add cloves of garlic in a food processor if not already chopped. Then add drained garbanzo beans & the olive oil & lemon juice. Pulse until it is a thick paste. Add tahini & blend adding the garbanzo liquid to desired thickness.

Usually I don’t use much of the bean juice because I like a thick dip. Salt & pepper to taste.

Eat with pita chips, carrots, pita bread, or falafel.

This is also from Alton Brown’s Good Eats.

I’m gonna have to make this! Any suggestions for spices?

I’d just go with Kosher salt & fresh black pepper. The tahini, lemon, & garlic are spice enough.
