Mix together:
2 sticks of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup regular sugar

then add:
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

In a separate bowl, mix together:
2 cups flour
2.5 cups oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Dump the butter/sugar/eggs/vanilla mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix together until everything pulls together. This will take a while.

Then add/mix in:
6 ounces milk chocolate chips
8 ounces semi or dark chocolate chips
Hershey’s Bar, grated (you can skip this, it’s kind of messy, but it’s totally worth the effort to add it in)
1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Shape into golf-ball sized dough balls and place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cook for about 6-ish minutes at 375 degrees. Cool, then keep in an airtight container. This will make roughly 40 to 50 cookies. They won’t look like anything special but trust me - they’re the best cookies you’ll ever have.

This is my mom’s recipe, adapted from the Neiman Marcus cookie, aka, Mrs. Fields $250 cookie.
