Paul — um… maybe there’s some sarcasm I’m not picking up on with your description of unemployed folks as "lazy fucks," and if so, you can disregard the following comment and I’ll just have to go fine-tune my Internet sarcasm meter. I’m glad you found a good job. But I would hardly call San Francisco one of the toughest U.S. cities to survive in. Expensive? Yes. Competitive? Certainly. But go to Detroit and try to find a good job with benefits (I know—most people wouldn’t want to move to Detroit, because there aren’t a lot of jobs there). I just don’t think you can paint an accurate picture of national unemployment using the limited criteria of one personal experience. I know there are some unemployed Rockers here who might agree.
